The Huffington Post Kundalini: Guru Mitar Hits the Sweet Spot

Always in search of true happiness, Linh James, aka Guru Mitar Kaur, has traveled around the worlds seeking answers about love, life and why she was here, she has found her gifts and become a well respected leader.

“The only thing keeping you from living a Life Rich in Love, Peace, Happiness, and Prosperity is you! It’s time to embrace your power and transform your life, it’s time live the Rich Life you were born to live” , Linh James, MA, spiritual psychologist and many other heart centered healing modalities.

James explains we all have our own inner healer. We have blocks and shields that we don’t know about. We use the breath to take us to altered states of consciousness so we can release these blocks from the inside, and experience healing. Rather than looking outside to find help, we are our own best healers. Most of us have issues with holding back our breath when we are tense. We hold anxiety inside and it gets stuck in different parts of our body. We can go to deep levels of healing from a subconscious place.

James has many modalities for expanding our consciousness including “using breath and vibrational sound to supercharge your meditation and unlock your potential.” We are able to break away from the patterns that we keep repeating over and over again. I discovered her Kundalini class at Yogaworks in Santa Monica. After decades of practicing different yoga styles, I felt a whisper calling me to go back to Kundalini. There weren’t any classes near me, but after a recent move to the westside I found out about her class and it resonated with me. The class is a set of practices focused on different areas of healing the body. Today it was the lymph system, which means we had to hold our arms out and move them about in weird directions and hold them up for an inordinate amount of time to clear the blockages! Part of the class is sitting down and doing breath work while moving about.

It may sound simple but your heart rate can shoot up quickly! If you’ve never experienced this kind of yoga, it requires concentration through focusing on a specific series of poses and a certain kind of breath (Breath of Fire). These simple, but certainly not easy movements challenge your mind/ego and so you can push beyond your limits. This yoga is becoming much more popular these days because it helps to balance the mind/body/spirit like no other.

Her approach is through the divine feminine as she leads with grace, beauty and a bit of a subtle butt kicking. (There is actually a hands and knees pose where we are encouraged to raise one leg at a time and try to kick our butts). Her essence is pure love and compassion, mixed with a bit of playfulness. (You never know when she’s going to put on some intense tantric drumming and get you dancing to the beat with wild abandon!) Now that’s what I call a great workout! But all of this work is well worth it, even if it seems off beat. There’s a precise method that promises to help you heal your insides and your outsides. The final resting pose is well worth all the efforts, since you get an extra special reward. Linh shares her unique talents of her Crystal and Tibetan Bowl Sound Bath and gong that resonates around the room and sends you into another dimension! As a spa-aholic, I have experienced many kinds of aural healing at the top trendy spas and take my word for it, she is one of the best. So not only do you get a workout, a brain infusion of positive energy and upliftment, but a gifted vibrational healing resonance that goes through your whole body. Here’s the wiki definition” “Kundalini Yoga also known as laya yoga, is a school of yoga that is influenced by Shaktism and Tantra. It derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana.[1] Called by practitioners “the yoga of awareness”, it aims “to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.

Here are a few raves from her students: “ Linh Is a true gem! She always tells us that she’s just the voice, we do the work. Well she absolutely is the voice. The voice, which resonates deep down to my core!! Her calm demeanor and passionate personality shines in everything she does and says. She welcomes everyone alike, whether a first time student or a seasoned practitioner; she makes everyone feel special. I leave her class in a state of bliss; feeling balanced and rejuvenated which continues with me for the rest of the day. I feel that through her guidance I push myself more to go beyond where i have been, to break those barriers, and I take that out into my everyday life. If you ever have the chance to take a class, run don’t walk.”- Laurie Although I come out of each class spreading the gospel to all of my yogini friends, the trek out to her class is challenging for many who live across town. With all the gridlock and traffic, most are not willing to plow through the midday madness. I feel blessed that I am able to do this. I only wish she could clone herself and be all over town so everyone would finally get a chance to experience her unique technique and experience some breakthroughs. She is doing a special Breathwork Healing and Awakening Sound Bath on Saturday evening, August 20 at Yogaworks in Santa Monica.

Give yourself and your body a gift of “breath and vibrational sound to supercharge your meditation and unlock your potential.” It’s not for the faint of heart, it may take you to places you didn’t know existed

It may “crack open all that has been frozen inside allowing you to emerge into your greatness.” When James does here magical healing bath, it’s like a one-woman choir with the nourishing Sound Bath of Gongs, Tibetan and Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls, Wind Chimes and Tuning Forks. At the end of the journey you’ll feel like you’ve shed some old stuff, transcended all of your everyday challenges and somehow all is well in your life and the world.
